    Was with the earliest settlers at New Haven, CT and signed with the Planter's Associates on 4 Apr 1639.

    He was a member of the First General Court.

    He was chosen Corporal 6 Jun 1642. An entry in the town books dated 1646: "John Moss being bidd to walk the rounds on a Lord's Day, came to the meeting house and stayed there, so the service was neglected; he was fined 10 shillings."

    At the age of 67, he was one of the incorporators of Wallingford, where on May 1678 he was chosen Commissioner and was authorized to marry people. He was re-elected to that post 18 times also serving as a deputy both for Wallingford and Meriden.
